Mark Speckman

Mark Speckman is the head football coach at Willamette University, a position he assumed in 1998 after serving the previous three seasons as the Bearcats’ offensive coordinator. He has guided the Bearcats to a 21-19 record in four years, including back-to-back seven-win seasons in his first two years. In 1999, Speckman led Willamette to the Northwest Conference championship and the NCAA Division III national playoffs. Within football circles, Speckman is regarded as the foremost authority on the "fly" offense. During his tenure at Willamette, the Bearcats have broken 29 offensive school records, including 738 yards of total offense in a game (Bethany, 1996) and 554 yards rushing in a game (Montana Tech, 1997). Prior to coming to Willamette, Speckman spent 14 years as one of the most successful and respected high school football coaches in California. Speckman is a 1977 graduate of Azusa Pacific University, where he earned honorable mention laurels as a NAIA All-American linebacker.
