Jack Schugars

Jack Schugars is the head football coach at Oakridge (MI) High School, a position he assumed in 1979. In his illustrious career, he has led his Eagle teams to a 222-70 record. In the process, Oakridge has won 16 West Michigan Conference championships and has qualified for the state playoffs 16 times—winning two state championships and finishing runners up twice. For his gridiron coaching achievements, Schugars has been honored numerous times, including being inducted into the Michigan High School Football Coaches Hall of Fame at the University of Michigan in 1993 and being given The Jim Crowley Award in 2000 for his contributions to the game of high school football in Michigan and to the MHSFCA. A devout Christian and a past president of the MHSFCA, Schugars is one of the most respected interscholastic football coaches in the history of the game.
