John Hendrick

John Hendrick is the defensive line coach at the University of South Florida, a position he assumed in 2008. The previous year, he spent as the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at South Carolina State University, a position he assumed in 2007. Before joining the Bulldogs’ staff, Hendrick served as the head football coach at Benedict College for four seasons (2003-2006). While at Benedict, the Tigers’ defensive units were nationally ranked in NCAA Division II all four years. With 25 years of collegiate coaching experience, Hendrick has had an impressive array of assistant coaching stints at a variety of institutions with major gridiron programs, including Pittsburgh, Southern University, Texas A & M, LSU, Kansas State, Temple, and Mississippi State. At Mississippi State, he was part of the defensive staff that produced the top-ranked defense in the nation.
