Brent Eckley

Brent Eckley is the head football coach at Union High School in Union, Missouri—a position he has held since 2005. In that period, the Wildcats have won two district championships and one conference championship (2006), the school’s first since 1992. Eckley played college football in his home state of Iowa, at William Penn University, in Oskaloosa, Iowa, where he received his bachelor’s degree in elementary education. He was a three-year letterman for the Statesmen football team, and was a two-year starter as a defensive lineman. Eckley’s overall record as a head coach is 73-24. Known for his explosive offenses, Eckley has coached four different quarterbacks to throw for more than 2,000 yards in a season. He has coached two different quarterbacks that have recorded 40-plus touchdown pass seasons. Eckley has had three different teams average more than 45 points per game for the season. He also has had three teams average more than 500 yards per game in total offense for the season, including the 2007 Union High School team, which recorded a state record of 545 yards per game.
