Jim Meyer

Jim Meyer is the defensive coordinator at Ashland University, a position he assumed prior to the 2005 season. Before joining the Eagles’ staff, Meyer spent two years as the defensive ends coach at Akron. A 1976 graduate of Akron, where he played middle guard for the Zips, Meyer began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at his alma mater (1977-1981), before becoming part of the staff at Bethany College in that same role for five years (1982-1986). In 1989, Meyer became the head coach at Kenyon College—a position he held for six years. He then rejoined the Akron staff for two years (1995-1996). Next, he left the Zips’ staff to become head football coach and athletic director at St. Vincent – St. Mary (OH) High School.
