Bobby Bentley

Bobby Bentley is the head football coach at James F. Byrnes (SC) High School, a position he assumed in 1995. In 2006, he took on the additional role of serving as the Rebels’ athletic director. During his tenure at the helm of Byrnes’ gridiron program, he has led the Rebels to a record of 96-50, including a 21-5 playoff record and four consecutive AAAA Division II state championships in the last four years. A 1990 graduate of Presbyterian College where he played quarterback and free safety, Bentley began his coaching career in 1990 as an assistant on the staff of James F. Byrnes—his high school alma mater, which he led to the South Carolina state championship game in 1985. He has been honored numerous times for his coaching efforts, including being named HSSR State Coach of the Year in 2003.
