Roy Williams

Roy Williams is the head men's basketball coach at the University of North Carolina, a position he assumed in 2003. During his tenure at UNC, he led his Tar Heels' squad to the NCAA Division I national championship in 2005. Before taking the reins at UNC, Williams spent 15 seasons as the head men's basketball coach at the University of Kansas, where he led the Jayhawks to 418 wins and 14 consecutive post-seasons NCAA tournament appearances. A 1972 North Carolina graduate, Williams began his coaching career in 1973 at the interscholastic level. In 1978, he joined the North Carolina coaching staff, where he worked for ten seasons under legendary Tar Heels' coach Dean Smith. Williams is highly respected on both the international and collegiate levels as one of the top coaches in the history of the game.
