Bobby April

Bobby April is the special teams coach for the NFL’s Buffalo Bills. April joined the Bills in 2004, following three seasons in the same position with the St. Louis Rams (2001-2003) and four seasons with his hometown New Orleans Saints (1996-1999). April came to the NFL in 1991 as special teams and tight ends coach with the Atlanta Falcons. April then coached the Pittsburgh Steelers’ special teams in 1994 and 1995. Before the NFL, April was an assistant coach for 13 years on the collegiate level. He began his career at his alma mater, Chalmette High in New Orleans, LA in 1976. He then served as a graduate assistant at Southern Mississippi for one season (1978), before becoming the tight ends coach at Tulane in 1979. From 1980-1986, he served as the secondary coach and kicking game coordinator at the University of Southern California for four years (1987-'90). April played at Nicholls State (1972-‘75) in Thibodaux, Louisiana, from where he graduated in 1976. A native of New Orleans, Bobby and his wife, Charlene, have one son, Bobby, and four daughters, Julie, Jamie Lee, Angela, and Jaclyn.
