Steve Libassi

Steve Libassi earned William and Mary’s first placekicking scholarship and went on to set or tie several of the school’s placekicking records during his four-year career. Steve had over 30 years of experience as a placekicker and a placekicking coach at the college, high school, and recreation-league levels. He was the holder of a patent for an athletic shoe design that ensures longer wear and a smooth surface for athletic activities, such as soccer and placekicking. Steve was a much loved and respected coach to the many young athletes who were lucky to have his personal guidance in developing their skills. Steve passed away from Leukemia in 2005, but his knowledge of placekicking techniques and training protocol will endure for years.
