Rick Houchens

Rick Houchens is the head football coach at Eleanor Roosevelt (MD) High School, a position he assumed in 1997. Since taking the reins of the Raiders’ gridiron program, Houchens has led Eleanor Roosevelt to unprecedented success. In the process, his teams have achieved a 90-22 record in ten seasons, including three 10-0 undefeated regular seasons. One of the most respected interscholastic coaches in the game, Houchens has coached squads to four Prince Georges County 4A Championships, four Maryland 4A Regional Championships, two appearances in the Maryland 4A state title game, and one Maryland 4A state championship. In 2001, his Raiders team set the Maryland state rushing record for a single game with 565 yards.
