Hubert "Sonny" Detmer
Hubert "Sonny" Detmer is one of the most respected high school football coaches in the history of the state of Texas. During his 38-year career as a coach, he has worked at eight different high schools. He developed and refined a passing system which was easy to coach, easy to learn, and very difficult to defend. His teams, which set several seasonal and career passing Texas records, were one of the few teams that threw the ball to win games. Detmer is also renowned for having coached his two sons, Ty and Koy, who went on to collectively play in the NFL for 23 years.
