Art Wilmore

Art Wilmore is the head men’s basketball coach at Point Loma Nazarene University, a position he assumed in 2002. In his first season with the Crusaders, he led a team that had finished 5-27 the previous season to a 22-11 record and a berth in the NAIA National Tournament. Before joining PLNU, he served as the head men’s basketball coach at Christian Heritage College in El Cajon, CA, for eight seasons. His Hawks’ teams won two National Christian College Athletic Association championships (1997, 1998) and went to the finals of the NAIA National Championships (2001). Wilmore is a graduate of the University of San Francisco, where he earned first-All West Coast Conference Team honors. His exceptional coaching career began in 1970 and has included stints at Cal Poly, Atascadero (CA) High School, Walla Walla (WA) Community College, and the University of Portland.
