G. Mark McElroy

G. Mark McElroy is the head football coach at Saddleback Community College (Mission Viejo, California), a position he has held since 1999. Under McElroy’s tutelage, the Gauchos have been to 12 consecutive bowl games, achieving a 105-47 record during that time. Prior to his present position, McElroy served as the head football coach at San Clemente High School, where he turned a fledgling program into one of the top gridiron programs in the state of California. Previously, he coached at Whitworth College (WA) (1990-’91) and BYU (1988-’89), where he served under renowned coaches LaVell Edwards and Norm Chow. During his stay on the BYU staff, McElroy completed his doctorate in sport leadership.
