John Loose is the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at Lafayette College. During his tenure as the Leopard’s defensive play caller, Lafayette has consistently ranked toward the top of both the Patriot League in defensive statistics and the overall NCAA Division I defensive standings, including a #1 national ranking for total defense in 2007. In 2008, Loose was recognized as the “Assistant Coach of the Year” by the American Football Coaches Association. Prior to assuming his current position, Loose served as the linebackers coach at Army, the defensive secondary coach and defensive coordinator at the Coast Guard Academy, and the defensive secondary coach at Albany State University. One of the most respected defensive coordinators in college football, Loose is highly regarded for his ability to get the most out of his players.
