Ralph Karst

Ralph Karst, Ph.D., is a retired professor of physical education and educational administration. He ended his 30-year teaching career at the University of Louisiana at Monroe (ULM), where he taught for 17 years before retiring in 1998. He has written many academic peer-reviewed publications, and has had many more scholarly papers presented at professional meetings. He holds a bachelor’s degree in physical education from the University of Wisconsin and a master’s degree in physical education and Ph.D. degrees in physical education and educational administration from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. In high school, Karst was an all-around athlete, lettering in football, basketball, and track. After graduating from Sheboygan (WI) Central High School, he attended the University of Colorado at Boulder on a basketball scholarship, then played two years of varsity basketball and track at the University of Wisconsin—LaCrosse.
