Dan Garrett

Dan Garrett is the head football coach at Kean University, a position he assumed in 2006. In his rookie season at the helm, the Cougars recorded their first winning season in over a decade—a feat that earned Garrett NJAC Coach of the Year honors. Before becoming the Cougars’ head coach, Garrett served as the defensive coordinator at Kean for three seasons. In 2005, he was named the AFCA’s Division III Assistant Coach of the Year. A 1997 graduate of Montclair State University, Garrett was a two-time first-team, all-NJAC selection at linebacker and defensive end. A proponent of an aggressive defense, Garrett is widely respected as one of the top young coaches in the game.
