John Levra is the former defensive line coach for the Buffalo Bills, a position he held for five seasons (1998-2002) before retiring after the 2002 season. Prior to that, he held the same title with the Minnesota Vikings for three years (1995-1997). With more than 30 years coaching experience, Levra was widely respected as one of the most capable and knowledgeable teaching coaches in the game. With experience at both the collegiate and high school levels, he also held NFL coaching positions with the Denver Broncos (1993-1994), Chicago Bears (1986-1992), and the New Orleans Saints (1981-1985). A widely sought-after clinic speaker, Levra is also the author of the well-received book Coaching Defensive Linemen and has been featured on numerous instructional DVDs. He and his wife, Rosie, live in Pittsburg, Kansas.
